In a 19-1 loss to the Indians, Royals pitcher Vin Mazzaro gave up 14 runs. Uecker wondered how Ned Yost could leave someone in for 14 runs.
"If I were the catcher, I'd just hand my glove to the umpire and say, 'You take it. I'll be back in a while.' If the manager asked me how he's doing, I'd say, 'I don't know I haven't caught one yet.'"
