Series and Momentum

Last weekend in a big series hosting the Reds, the Pirates dropped two games. Then Sunday they were losing again. After winning so many series in a row, they were now in danger of getting swept by their closest rival. But NO! They came back and then won in walk-off fashion. The crowd went crazy! Bucco Fever heading into a roadtrip!!! Where they proceeded to get swept by the Braves. The last minute miracle was breaking up a no-hitter by Julio Teheran Iran in the 8th inning. So, maybe goals have slid a bit. So much for momentum. It's easily the most overused idea in sports. We've got the Cubs coming up so theoretically that should work better than the negative momentum from being swept for the first time since the Dodgers at the beginning of the season. Or, maybe it was breaking up the no-hitter that will have fired them up! I'm sure someone will suggest that.
