Rules For Holds

OK here's what I think would be fair for holds between AL and NL teams. From the end of the regular season up until the publication of Scoresheet lists, your players are still on their previous year's team. From the day that Scoresheet publishes their player lists - your team changes - any guys you had on your opposite league team are now on the team for whichever league Scoresheet designates, ie

I hope that's clear. We'll have the same rule in place for our minor leagues. This year's AL No Guts minor league draft, however, will be from scratch. There won't be any holds this year.

I will let Bingo the Monkey interview with any team for a 1st round draft pick. The genius behind such shrewd signings as Mark Carreon and Todd Hundley is perhaps best known for his well orchestrated trade of Barry Bonds for Henry Rodriguez. It is widely assumed that this move brought back fan interest at Jack Woofy stadium through "O Henry" candy bar promotions. Said Bingo, "you build a team with pitching and defense and doing the little things. In the case of H-Rod, he rarely grounded into a double play....more importantly, though, you need character and veteran leadership, intangibles that H clearly brought to the table.

It is this kind of mojo which separates the talented from the champions. Bingo can find the Paul Ah Yats, Jayhawk Owens, and Mike Cather's of the world. Sure Albert Pujols puts up numbers...but he doesn't put on rings.

Although I hate to tip my hand, I believe I could let Bingo go for a 1st rounder and a "sandwich" pick. Please contact me if interested.

Welcome Everyone!

This is going to be our public forum for general chat/commentary about the leagues. I think this will work better than the mass emails.

Sometime soon I will post the rules about player holds within the two league format.
